With production already underway at General Motor’s Bowling Green, Ky., assembly plant, the 2014 Corvette Stingray is set to be GM’s most powerful standard model Corvette to-date. Due in large part to the estimated 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque its all-new (non-supercharged) 6.2 liter LT1 V-8 power plant delivers. The 2014 Corvette Stingray is also said to be the most capable standard model ever, with the ability to squak its tires from 0-60 in less than four seconds and achieve more than 1g in cornering grip. If that’s not enough to prep your current beater for trade-in, the new Stingray is also expected to be the most fuel-efficient Corvette, exceeding the EPA-estimated 26 mpg of the current model… that is of course if you plan to follow all posted speed limits and can refrain from doing smokey burnouts at every stop sign you see!
