Design & Installation

All of the Cardo systems are easy enough to install, but this version has been the easiest. You have the option to use the adhesive mounting plate or the clip for the ear pocket on your helmet, which speeds things up and makes it easy to take off and switch helmets if needed. The microphone uses velcro to attach to any chin strap and the headphones slip right into any ear pocket or they can be mounted inside using the velcro adhesive pads. The installation took less than 5 minutes including, downloading the app and syncing the system to my phone. Pairing other group members to a group is quick and easy. Plus every time you turn it off and back on again, the group will automatically sync up so there is no need to mess around with trying to re-connect at each location. Just turn it on and go.

The buttons on this system are much easier to control without fumbling around trying to feel for the top, bottom, and front. There are two main buttons on each side that control the audio, power, and music tracks, along with a dial right in the middle to quickly adjust the audio levels or mute your system. I really liked the design of this version more than any models I’ve reviewed in the past. I can see myself using this system on every helmet I have.

Connectivity

One of the most impressive features of this product is its range. With the Packtalk Outdoor Cardo system, users can stay connected with other riders up to 1km/0.6mi range (between two users) or 3km/5mi for the whole group. This is perfect for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and skiing, where staying in touch with your group is important.

The Packtalk Outdoor Cardo system also comes with a mobile app that lets users customize their device settings, update firmware, and access other features. This app is available for both iOS and Android devices, making it easy to use no matter what kind of smartphone you have.

Audio Quality

In addition to its range, the Packtalk Outdoor Cardo system also boasts impressive JBL audio quality. The device has noise-cancelling technology that filters out wind and background noise, ensuring that you can hear your conversations clearly. This is especially important when you’re in a noisy environment where it might be difficult to hear each other. I could easily hear my group as we worked our way down the hill with wind gusts and everything.

Value

One downside of this product is its price point. At $249.95, the Packtalk Outdoor Cardo system is a bit expensive compared to other Bluetooth communication devices on the market. However, the device’s impressive range and audio quality may justify the investment for those who spend a lot of time outdoors and need to stay in touch with their group. The added benefit of listening to your music while also communicating with your crew is great. When someone in your group begins to talk, your music will automatically lower so you can hear them with ease. When the conversation is over, the music will automatically increase to the previous level. You also have the option to mute the audio if you just want to hear your music or have a private conversation with the person next to you. There are also built in voice commands for a hands free experience. “Hey Cardo, music on”, or “Hey Cardo, next track”, or “Hey Cardo, mute microphone” are all great voice commands for when you truly need a hands free experience.

Overall, the Packtalk Outdoor Cardo system is an impressive product for outdoor enthusiasts who want to stay connected while they’re on the go. Its range, audio quality, and mobile app make it a standout option for anyone who needs reliable communication in noisy outdoor environments.
