“Better to die, than be a coward.” The motto of the ancient Nepalese warriors has given Gurkha cigars their name and inspiration for their unrelenting, unapologetic style. As time changed and the world shifted, the British colonial soldiers adapted to the Nepalese culture, their love for the locally grown tobacco grew into hand rolled cigars and the foundation for the Gurkha cigar company. Gurkha wraps and rolls the fighting spirit of the Nepalese warriors and the passion of the British soldiers into every cigar they produce, and the Cask Blend is a perfectly potent example.

Draw:
The Ghurka line tends to run a bit tight on the draw, which is one reason that might contribute to the slightly uneven burn. Without knowing too much about the nitty gritty of the cigar’s make up this potent and bold smoke it’s hard to pinpoint the direct reason why the draw would be on the tighter side.
Burn:
Throughout the entire Cask Blend, tiny peaks and valleys grew and tightened, eventually leading to several lighter corrections. Although the wrapper dipped here and stayed true there, the burn was not distracting and after a few minor relights all was well. Towards the final third of the cigar, the wrapper corrected itself and settled into consistency.
