JBL, a company that has evolved over the years to bring its consumers the best quality in music and entertainment. Usually associated with the NBA, they are not always as well known as the brand with specific celebrity endorsements or mainstream advertising. Although not as well known for branding, JBL delivers with their products. The JBL Everest Elite 700 over-ear headphones are no exception; a combo of sleek design and quality function gives the consumer a well rounded experience in terms of design, comfort, and acoustics.
These headphones were something I have truly never experienced before. On all levels including sound, quality, design and comfort, I was blown away! Unboxing this beautifully designed headset was an activity in itself for a design nerd such as myself. The box is beautiful and the packaging design is amazing in itself, but then you get to the headphones. As someone with extremely sensitive ears, I found these headphones to be a relief. I have owned fairly good quality headphones before, and have found that every 20 minutes or so I had to remove them because my ears would hurt. Not these bad boys. The JBL Elite 700’s truly come through in terms of comfort.

Design:
Unboxing this beautifully designed headset was an activity in itself for a design nerd such as myself. The box is beautiful and the packaging design is amazing in itself, but then you get to the headphones. I love the overall look of the headphones, and they truly feel like a quality product as soon as you unpackaged them. To my surprise, the bluetooth was very easy to set up. Usually I fumble around with feature like that for around an hour trying to figure everything out but JBL made it simple and quick to set up!
Comfort:
As someone with extremely sensitive ears, I found these headphones to be a relief. I have owned fairly good quality headphones before, and have found that every 20 minutes or so I had to remove them because my ears would hurt. Not these bad boys. The JBL Elite 700’s truly come through in terms of comfort. My only concern with these headphones would be with exercise. They are a bit big to be doing sit-ups or jogging with, but JBL does have a collection of sport earbuds as well which may be more appropriate. Although they do stay in place for the most part, they feel a bit big and bulky for a workout. These particular headphones are very adjustable to fit your desired size.
Acoustics:
This particular set claims to be noise cancelling, which is most certainly true. I mainly wear these at the office and my coworkers now have to wave at me to get my attention. I have also noticed that the sound quality is out of this world. Of course I have listened to music on good headphones/ speakers before, but never like this! You can truly appreciate your music on another level. Even doing sound design while editing videos is an experience within itself with these headphones, you can hear every beat and background sound while editing. I have also taken the liberty to listen to a full movie with these headphones on and again, I was blown away. It was like having high quality surround sound right from my laptop. I almost can’t wait to test out how effective they will be on a long plane ride.
