The world of single-serve coffee got a little tastier last year when Keurig, developer of the popular K-Cup single-serve brewing systems, introduced the Vue V700, its next generation of brewing machines. The company launched its first machine in 1998 and has since gained wide-spread popularity among java lovers for its speed and convenience. Keurig’s brewers work by running hot water through a small single-serve pack of coffee, tea, hot chocolate or other beverages. To the dismay of existing Keurig fans, the company’s K-Cups are not compatible with the new brewer. However, Vue cups have improved technology and are partially recyclable.
For an up-close and personal look at the new Vue V700 check out Keurig’s product video embedded video below… As a grad student who drinks far too much coffee, I was skeptical that the Vue could deliver a quality similar to that of freshly ground coffee beans in my traditional coffee maker but I was excited for a hassle-free experience with the touch of a button. After finishing the entire Favorites Variety Pack that included various coffee roasts, herbal tea, iced tea and hot cocoa, I was impressed with the machine.

– KEURIG VUE V700 REVIEW –
DESIGN:
(9 out of 10) The Vue V700 looks sleek and modern on the counter top and is a perfect size for the home or workplace. The color touch screen is one of the coolest new features of the Vue and makes selecting beverage type, size and strength very intuitive. My favorite feature on the brewer is simple: the lower tray of the Vue pulls out allowing a larger to-go mug to fit into the brewer. The 74oz. water reservoir located on the side of the brewer is removable and easy to refill in the sink. My only complaint is that the brewing process is noisy but it’s a minor knock to an otherwise great product.

CONVENIENCE:
(10 out of 10) The most notable perk of the Vue V700 brewer is its convenience. My morning routine consisting of waiting in line at the coffee shop and arriving late to meetings has been replaced with popping in a Vue pack at home and heading out the door with my coffee one minute later. I appreciate not having to mess with coffee filters and grounds and cleanup consists of tossing the Vue pack into the garbage (the packs are partially recyclable). My favorite convenience factor this summer has been the iced coffee. Typically, I would need to keep a pitcher of pre-brewed iced coffee in the fridge all summer, but now I can enjoy fresh brewed glass of iced coffee on the spot. Living on my own, I have also enjoyed not having to brew an entire pot of coffee when I only want one cup. The only downside with the Vue V700 is that the brewer does take a minute to warm up when you initially turn it on assuming you don’t leave it on all day. Can you say spoiled?
