I have been working with Ridge for a few years now testing their wallets—which is Ridge’s original product—as well as their other daily carry items like key carriers, pens, and more.

When Ridge gave me the opportunity to check out one of their rings, I jumped at the chance as I had a wedding coming up.

Ridge has a wide variety of finishes and ring designs to choose from, as well as engraving opportunities, for your ring. They just added a narrow 4mm ring option on top of their 6mm and 8mm options. I opted for a 6mm version, as it felt like the most traditional for a wedding band.

More on this later in the review, but Ridge has an awesome guarantee program that offers 2 ring replacements over the lifetime of the ring for loss, damage, or for shifting finger sizes either up or down. Pretty rad to have a little peace of mind with your lifelong purchase.

Let’s dive into the Ridge Ring review!

Ridge 6MM Beveled Ring Review Breakdown

Design

As mentioned in the intro, the 6MM Beveled band has a traditional rounded shape that is a handsome, classic design for a wedding band… my intended use. The inside of the ring is lined with a smooth, inner convex shape for a comfortable, no-pinch fit. It also allows for easier gliding on and off the finger. Ridge refers to this as a dual-layer design.

What I loved about the Stonewashed Titanium was the fact that it was already a bit roughed up, by design, from the factory. It was pre-broken-in if you will, and has only aged better over time as daily life takes its toll on the ring.

Overall feature callouts:

  • Rounded Edge
  • Convex No-Pinch Fit
  • Dual-Band Design
  • Scratch Resistant PVD Coating
  • Never Lost & Forever Fit Protection
  • Lifetime Warranty
  • 99-Day Risk-Free Trial
  • Silicone Band as part of set
  • Width: 6mm

Comfort

This is my first time wearing a ring in life, and I have to admit, I don’t have a ton of experience with the comfort of rings. That said, after a quick adjustment of getting used to wearing a ring in the first place, I find the Ridge ring to be easy to wear. It does not tug on the skin at all or irritate the skin at all. The smooth inside material makes a definite difference in the comfort and ease of donning, and as mentioned above, Ridge references a no-pinch fit… very appreciated.

Engraving

I opted for a simple engraving on the inside of the ring. It is just a date, the date that my wife and I met—which is a bit non-traditional. We just loved the idea of including the day it all started on the ring, as we had been together over 7 years before getting married.

Overall, the engraving looks clean and is easy to read. Although I only engraved numbers, it would be very easy to read text like initials, an abbreviated phrase, or a few words.

Ring Box & Packaging

The unboxing experience is very cool with the Ridge ring, albeit slightly overkill, but definitely on brand for Ridge. Every ring comes inside a tiny hard case, like the smallest Pelican case you’ve ever seen.

It is foam lined and has two spots—one for the ring, and one for the rubber active ring that comes with every ring purchase. Inside is also a polishing cloth and a warranty/register card. It is an awesome little unboxing experience that levels up the experience and keeps that ring very safe when it isn’t on your finger.

Warranty Guarantee – “Never Lost & Forever Fit Protection”

As mentioned in the intro, every Ridge ring comes with a 2 replacement guarantee, which I think is a really awesome move by Ridge. While not everyone will need to use this, there are plenty of scenarios in which a ring could need replacing—loss, injury in which it gets cut off, finger size changes, and others.

Safety

As many folks will tell you, certain rings come with a safety risk due to the ability, or rather inability, to cut them off in the event of an accident, swelling incident, etc. Since my ring is Titanium, I did check with the Ridge team on the safety of the ring knowing the material is pretty tough and hardcore.

They pointed me to this FAQs page on their site, which states, “In the most extreme cases, the ring may need to be broken off using a vice grip wrench or other similar tools. Most household toolkits and emergency personnel have this common tool.” Due to the dual-layer build of the ring, it is possible to cut or break the ring if needed. A sigh of relief for this type of metal ring.

Regardless, the included silicone band is an easy swap if you’re worried about catching your ring or pinching your fingers!

Durability & Value

As I alluded to in the design section, the Stonewashed Titanium is aging very well, and arguably looks better than the day I got it. It has a few scratches, which to me, are just memories. I have a small scuff from our wedding day when we were getting the classic “climb up on a rock in the forest in Blundstones” wedding picture. To me, those are memories, and I am glad I am making them with my Ridge ring.

Overall, Ridge rings come in at a great price point and come with the awesome backing of their guarantee and the rubber/silicon band. Plus, the hard case is a cool added touch making for an awesome little package for the price.

I have absolutely no concerns that this ring will last a lifetime and look good doing it. Let’s just hope I don’t need more than 2 warranty claims.
