Born from the passion and drive to create a truly signature, bold style, Aganorsa Leaf has proven itself as one of the world’s premier cigar brands. Owner Eduardo Fernandez built the foundations of Aganorsa Leaf by bringing renown tobacco growers and specialists from Cuba to the idyllic conditions of Esteli, Nicaragua. The Signature Maduro is the perfect culmination of uncompromised quality, ambition, and craft.
You will not find a Nicaraguan Puro Maduro that tastes like this one. We take pride in curing our Aganorsa Leaf grown on our best farms to use in cigars layered in balanced flavor and complexity. We chose this Shade Grown Corojo Maduro for our Signature brand because it is a rare leaf that matches the pleasant sweetness of our filler tobaccos.

What’s Inside:
- Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo
- Binder: Corojo ’99
- Filler: Criollo ’98, Corojo ’99, and medio tiempo
Construction:
Crafted from vintage Corojo tobaccos, the Aganorsa Maduro cigar is built to be savored. The layers of flavor that develop from the first puff down to the last embody the hard work and determination master blender Max Fernandez and owner Eduardo Fernandez took creating this cigar. Mixing in small leaves of medio tiempo with the classic, bold flavors of aged Corojo and Crillolo tobaccos, composes a well-balanced, indulgent cigar.
Draw:
The draw started off a bit tight, but as the burn developed, the tobaccos eased and allowed the air to flow through the Corojo and Criollo binder and filler. By the second third of the cigar, the draw was producing thick, heavy smoke that cooled down the draw, and accentuated the rich flavor profile.
Burn:
When I get the chance to smoke and review a cigar this good, it’s hard to write about the flaws that were grossly overshadowed by the beauty of the flavor, construction, and aroma. That being said, this nearly perfect smoke needed to have the burn corrected a few times throughout the experience. Once it was corrected, the burn stayed even for quite a while, and since it took over an hour to smoke it, there were a few times I needed to break out the lighter.
Aroma:
Prelit :
- Toasted Nuts
- Damn Earth
- Toffee
Lit:
- Roasted Pecans
- Leather
- Freshly Roasted Coffee
Flavor:
Right out of the wrapper, the Aganorsa Maduro starts swinging with haymakers of fresh coffee, roasted nuts, and hints of silky chocolate. The first third has a bit more black and red pepper, while the second and third parts of the cigar mellow out into rich nutty flavors, accented with coffee and dark cocoa. The overall flavors of toasted nuts and layered accents of toffee and coffee provide a full-bodied base to this nuanced cigar. This cigar embodies the old saying perfectly; An iron fist in a velvet glove.
Value:
You have to pay for decadence and in this case, you’re not going to need to break the bank. With the Aganorsa Maduro comes in at around $9.5 a stick, the value is amazingly apparent. You’re not shelling out cash for the brand’s name or for some slick marketing campaign, the money you spend on this cigar is commanded by the quality and experience.
