We always love when we get a new grill to review and we were very excited when the Traeger Woodridge Pellet Grill showed up. There’s something in that initial curl of wood smoke that changes everything. You’re not cooking dinner, you’re sitting down to grill and do God’s work. For those who are serious about their craft, the equipment is important! Enter the Traeger Woodridge Pellet. It’s Traeger’s latest drop in the entry-to-mid range category, and we ran it through its paces during a snow-covered Michigan winter. From venison to ribs, it handled it all with confidence. Spoiler alert: this thing didn’t just hold its own—it made us rethink what a pellet grill can actually do. We reviewed a lot of grills over the year and this one is setting the bar high.

Setup:

Assembly can make or break a first impression, and this grill crushed it. Everything out of the box was well-packaged, clearly labeled, and designed to go together without any head-scratching moments. The instructions weren’t buried in a novel or translated five times, they were clear and actually useful. We didn’t need power tools, extra hands, or more than an hour.

By the time the lid was on and we were ready to fire it up, we still had half a six pack left which is rare! Compared to the usual wrestling match that is assembling a grill, this felt like putting together a Lego set. It’s obvious Traeger thought through the entire user experience from the moment the box hits your doorstep.

Getting this grill ready to go was shockingly easy. The parts fit together like they should and honestly, one of the smoothest assembly experiences we’ve had with any grill.

Design:

From the feel of the lid to the clean welds and well-placed handles, it just feels thoughtfully made. The wheels roll smoothly over uneven patio stone, and the lid has the right amount of weight without being a pain to lift. Even the grease management system is tucked away nicely so you’re not staring at a drip bucket every time you walk by.

The built-in hooks and storage underneath are actually useful and not just thrown on as an afterthought. This thing looks good. The blacked-out finish gives it a clean, modern feel that doesn’t scream for attention but still turns heads. It’s solidly built with a fold-down side shelf, bottom storage shelf, and just an overall sense that this grill is made to last. You get about 860 square inches of cooking space, which is more than enough for big weekend cooks or hosting duties.

On top of that, the built-in WiFIRE technology lets you control the grill from your phone using the Traeger app. Adjust temperatures, track your cook, get notifications and it’s incredibly intuitive. For long cooks or cold days, it’s a legit game-changer. You’re no longer tethered to the grill, and that freedom makes a big difference.

The pellet hopper is another well-thought-out design element. With a 24-pound capacity, it holds enough fuel for extended cooks without constant refills. There’s also a trap door that makes changing pellet flavors easy if you like experimenting. It’s functional, clean, and built for convenience.

Performance:

Let’s start with consistency. We fired it up in classic Michigan winter conditions with temps in the 20s and a heavy wind and the Woodridge didn’t blink. It hit target temps fast, and more importantly, held them rock-solid, even with lid checks and long cooks. Whether we were running a low-and-slow rib session at 225°F or going full blast to sear tenderloin at over 450°F, it responded quickly and stayed stable.

With WiFIRE connectivity, we managed every cook from the Traeger app. You can adjust temps, monitor internal meat temps, and get alerts without hovering by the grill. It’s a genuine game-changer when you’re juggling sides in the kitchen or just trying to stay warm inside. The wired meat probe delivered accurate,  and real-time reads.

Value:

At just under a $800 the Traeger Woodridge Pellet Grill feels like a strong buy. The performance, build quality, and extra features all stack up. Whether you’re a seasoned griller or just getting into the pellet game, it gives you pro-level results without needing to be a pro.

The Woodridge Pellet delivers. From fast heat-up times and solid winter performance to smart tech and dead-simple assembly, it’s a well-rounded grill that punches above its price. Whether you’re smoking ribs all afternoon or reverse-searing steaks for dinner, it’s got you covered. If you want something that looks sharp, works hard, and doesn’t get fussy, this one’s easy to recommend.
