Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey is a straight Rocky Mountain whiskey that utilizes the melt water from the snow covered peaks of the Colorado Rockies. Never heard of it? That’s probably because they do things a little different at the Stranahan’s Distillery in Denver. Instead of blending their whiskey from 100’s of barrels like the big boys (ie. Jim Beam and Crown Royal) Stranahan’s selects from ten to twenty of their best barrels, and combines them for one small batch. They say that the recipe for their mash is different. They say the way they distill it is different. And yet, drinkers of single barrel bourbons, and single malt scotch aficionados, all seem to find something to like in their handcrafted product.

Being the small operation that Stranahan’s is, they typically bottle one batch of whiskey every three weeks. To keep labor costs down and befriend the public they regularly offer volunteer positions on their bottling assembly line!
