The 2014 DeMarini TheOne is all new with a 13″ 4.ONE barrel and a stiff SC4 Alloy handle, the ONE was designed to feel like a one-piece which will reduce the amount of flex lost upon contact and allow hitters with fast swings to crush the ball. The handle is made from DeMarini’s SC4 Alloy, which is designed to be extremely stiff. The ONE also sports a Dish end cap that is designed to create extreme stiffness at the end of the bat. Overall: (36.5 out of 40) The Triad Extreme3 easily impressed our panel. Miken touted that this bat comes out of the wrapper hot and they were not lying. The Triad is an endloaded design so it is better suited for players with a naturally high swing speed that are looking to drive the ball out of the park. Throughout our testing the bat felt smooth throughout the swing and the ball naturally launched off the barrel. Upon contact, there was very little vibration and we were able to drive the ball on all pitch locations.

Overall: (34.5 out of 40) The 2015 Psycho Balanced wins the Busted Wallet award for best overall value! While we saw a small dip in overall power, the durability and endless streams of consistent line drives more than made up for it. The Psycho is what you would expect from Miken, high-quality design and technology with great durability. You cannot go wrong with this bat. It came ready to hit andd the break-in time was minimal before we reached maximium results.

The 2014 Louisville Slugger z-2000 end loaded is being touted as one of Lousiville’s most powerful bats ever built. The Z-2000 features LS-2X Composite technology, which layers the bat with thinner, high-strength walls for a lighter swing weight. Louisville believes this should increase overall performance of the bat and give you added durability. The iST barrel-to-handle connection is designed to give maximium feel and power to allow you to drive the ball all over the field.

Overall: (32 out of 40) Louisville touted the LS-2X composite technology, which was designed to reduce overall barrel thickness and provide a lighter swing weight and we have to agree they hit this on the mark. The bat felt light and smooth and we were able to go an ounce or two higher than we normally would and still generate great swing speed. Overall, this bat has a minimal break in time and very consistent with a great sweet spot.

The 2014 Avenge Axe bat is a revolutionary design in the softball world. Featuring the Axe handle which is ergonomically designed to fit your hands, the Axe handle shape should give you a better grip that reduces tension. This is designed to result in a consistent, smooth swing. With the grip, the bat is designed to have a single hitting face. The Engineered Hitting Zone focuses on a specific and that allowed designers to focus on making that area perfect.

Overall: (34.5 out of 40) The Avenge Axe back is truly a unique hitting experience. The feel of the bat took some getting used to but once the team did, we loved the overall feel and consistency of the bat. Since you should be hitting the ball in the same zone on the Axe bat, we found great consistency. This quickly became known as the line drive machine on the team. We did start to wear out the grip on the axe portion faster than we would on a normal grip, however the line drives made up for it.

The 2014 Easton L 1.0 is part of the Easton Raw Power line. The L1.0 design is an all composite 2-piece end loaded design. The L1.0 is designed to offer maximum performance and optimized feel upon contact. The L1.0 features Easton’s patented two-piece ConneXion technology which uses an elastomer connector to mechanically interlock the handle to the barrel, allowing the two pieces to act independently. This should create a genourous sweet spot and elminate vibration

Overall: (35 out of 40) Easton has been making quality bats for a long time and we are sorry to say we took them for granted. The L 1.0 brought us back to our senses and we were thoroughly impressed. The SIC™ Black Carbon handle really provided a great overall feel and basically made all vibration extinct. The IMX™ Composite barrel is a thing of beauty as it look and feels great. We had no issues finding the sweet spot with this bat.

Sold with no warranty to speak of, the Blackout from Mizuno is by far one of the most affordable and tech-packed bats we had the opportunity to test this year. Some key features that really caught our attention throughout testing were Mizuno’s cylinder seaming technology (used to kill inconsistencies), newly upgraded glass fiber and its 13″ balanced barrel. For a company that only produces one bat (in two colors) Mizuno has got something special in this model.

Overall: (33 out of 40) For the money it’s hard to knock the Blackout. Throughout testing we were impressed over an over again with this bat’s ability to deliver smoking liners as well as long-balls to every corner of the park. If you’re on a budget and looking for something that’s got some surprising pop right out of the wrapper don’t hesitate on the Blackout from Mizuno. Just remember to take good care of it, because there’s no warranty to fall back on!

The 2014 Louisville Slugger z-3000 is a special bat to hit the market. The Z-3000 is actually a three-piece design. Feautring their patened TRU3 three-piece connection, the Z-3000 is designed to deliver the extreme sting reduction while still providing great responsive and power.

Overall: (35.5 out of 40) The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 features some very unique technology. The new Tru3 technolgoy, which is the first ever 3-piece technology, was created to strengthen the link between the barrel and handle. The feel of the bat was tremendous and this link between barrel and handle really shot the ball of the barrel with great force. We hit ball after ball with great power and explosion off the barrel and felt barely any vibration. The Pure 360 composite barrel continues to impress.

Overall: (37 out of 40) Congratulations to the 2014 DeMarini Stadium CL22 on being The Editor’s choice winner! The Stadium consistently was one of the best bats that we have hit in a long time. The end load design provided great power to anywhere on the field and provided the most consistent pop we found. Time and time again our team kept going back to the Stadium knowing that they would get great consisent results.

The 2014 Easton B2.0 is another Easton bat that we tested from the Raw Power line. The Raw Power B2.0 is an all composite 1-piece evenly balanced design. The B2.0 features a stiff handle. The B Series from the Raw Power line is offers evenly balanced designs for a more controlled power that will allow you to put the ball in all the nooks and crannies the field has to offer. The single system technology is designed to increase your bat control and give you better command at the plate.

Overall: (34 out of 40) The 2014 Easton B2.0 features the same barrel and handle technology as the Easton L 1.0 that we previously tested. We did see more power out of the L 1.0 but this bat still has ability to the put the ball anywhere on the field. The IMX™ composite barrel continued to deliver consistent line drives to all parts of the field and on pitches inside or outside of the plate. Overall the folks at Easton produced some greats bats this year!
