As you may already know, 2016 is a very special year for Jack Daniel’s as a brand. In fact it marks their 150th anniversary distilling Tennessee Whiskey. Commemorating this unmatched milestone, today Master Distiller Jeff Arnett announced a new limited edition whiskey hitting shelves September 1st. Jack Daniel’s 150th Anniversary Whiskey is produced the same as famous Old No. 7, (80 percent corn, 12 percent barley and 8 percent rye) however to make this whiskey distinct they matured it in barrels with a “heavy toast” and light char to produce a totally unique Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. Here’s the scoop…jack daniels 150th

Tasting Notes:

  • Proof: 100 (50% ABV)
  • Nose: Caramel and butter scotch
  • Taste: More butter scotch and caramel
  • Price: $99 1L ($USD)

“For this 150th anniversary whiskey, our coopers ‘slow-toasted’ the barrels to bring out the rich flavors and aromas of the wood, creating a contemporary expression of an 1866 barrel char. We wanted to offer a unique whiskey that we think collectors and consumers alike will enjoy for their own celebrations and is as special as the anniversary that it celebrates.” -Jeff Arnett

Jack Daniel’s 150th Anniversary Whiskey will be available beginning September 1st, 2016 with a suggested retail price of $99.99 for a 1L bottle.

We’ll be tasting this whiskey soon, so stay tuned to Busted Wallet for a full report on how this whiskey stacks up.
