All year you wait for that one single holiday where you can dress as your favorite character (or anything you want, really) without being judged.  You have spent the last month getting your costume ready and decorating for your Halloween party.  The big night has finally come.  The food spread is glorious and guests are starting to arrive.  Suddenly it hits you.  You forgot to make a special Halloween libation.  There is nothing scarier than hosting a Halloween party with no spooktacular beverage.  We want to make sure that doesn’t happen, so we compiled a list of some deliciously creepy cocktails to help you liven up the party.

INGREDIENTS:

PREPARATION: Combine ingredient in pitcher and stir until thoroughly mixed. Serve over ice in brown sugar-rimmed glasses. Garnish with a star anise. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

PREPARATION: Combine Jack-O’Blast and orange juice in a glass filled with ice and stir. Top with club soda and enjoy.

 


Wicked Red Punchimage001 (1)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 bottle of HobNob Wicked Red Blend
  • 1½ cups spiced rum
  • 3 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 oranges, zested
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • 1 lime, zested

PREPARATION: Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and let sit, refrigerated for at least an hour before. If available, add one large block of ice to the bowl. Stir well before serving.  Add a sugar rim and an orange slice garnish.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 part JDK & Sons™ O3
  • 1/2 part Fresh Pressed Apple Cider
  • 5 dashes Baked Apple Bitters
  • 5 dashes Tiki Bitters
  • Hard Cider

PREPARATION: Combine Baker’s Bourbon, JDK & Sons™ O3, fresh pressed apple cider, and bitters in a mixing glass over ice and stir. Strain into a coupe glass and top with hard cider. Garnish with a long apple twist.

INGREDIENTS:

PREPARATION: Combine Black Strap, falernum syrup and fresh lime juice in a mixing glass. Pour cider into a rocks glass and slowly float mixture over top of the cider. Finish with fresh grated nutmeg and a lime or orange peel.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ½ parts CRUZ Reposado Tequila
  • 3 parts Tres Agaves Strawberry Margarita Mix
  • ¼ parts White Sambuca or Generic White Sambuca
  • Garnish with a Halved Strawberry and Red Licorice string / straw

PREPARATION: Add all ingredients over ice shake and strain over fresh ice.  Can be made Frozen as well.


Maker’s 46 Haunted Old Fashionedimage009

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 parts Maker’s 46
  • 1 ½ parts pumpkin syrup*
  • 8 dashes angostura bitter
  • 8 dashes orange bitters
  • 4 orange peels, squeeze oil from zest into tin

PREPARATION: Shake all ingredients with orange peels and then strain into pumpkin filled with fresh ice.  Add orange peels for decoration and top with a splash of soda water.  Garnish with a handful of candy corn & enjoy as a Halloween snack and a drink in one!

*Pumpkin Syrup: Remove seeds from a whole pumpkin and cut into slices that can be juiced.  (A small pumpkin will yield approx. 1 cup of juice.)  In a saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup pumpkin juice and 1 cup organic evaporated cane sugar with 2 whole cinnamon sticks. Heat until sugar is dissolved, let cool before using.  Alternatively: buy natural pumpkin syrup.

INGREDIENTS: 

PREPARATION: Stir all ingredients and strain into a chilled cocktail coupe.  Garnish with an orange peel and grated allspice.

*honey syrup: in a small pot over medium heat, combine 1 c. honey and 1 c. water and stir lightly until dissolved.

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 1 oz. G’Vine Nouaison Gin
  • .5 oz. blue curacao liqueur
  • .5 oz. white creme de cacao liqueur
  • 1.5 oz. freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 egg white

PREPARATION: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake (no ice) vigorously for one minute. Add a few cubes of ice and shake again for 30 seconds and strain in to cocktail glass.

INGREDIENTS:

PREPARATION: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.  Garnish with a flamed orange peel.

 

 

 


Midori Spider’s KissMidori_Spider's Kiss (1)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 part Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 1 part Pinnacle Vodka
  • Splash of Fresh Lemon Juice
  • A dew dashes of Grenadine
  • Chocolate fudge

PREPARATION: Pipe a chocolate web into a martini glass and place in the refrigerator to chill. Combine Midori Melon Liqueur, Pinnacle Vodka, and lemon juice in a shaker and strain into glass. For a blood effect, gently pour grenadine into glass using a spoon. Garnish with a chocolate dipped orange slice

 


Scary MaryScary Mary

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 2 oz. Van Gogh BLUE Triple Wheat Vodka
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Horseradish
  • 1 tsp Chipotle Paste
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Tomato Juice to top
  • 1/2 Lime to garnish
  • Fresh Lime to rim a glass
  • Celery Salt to rim a glass

PREPARATION: Run a wedge of fresh lime around the top of a lowball glass, then dip glass in celery salt to rim.  Add remainder of the ingredients in a glass and mix.  Fill glass with ice and stir.  Garnish with a celery stalk, lime wheel, and “scary eyeballs” or sliced radishes spiked with olives for a spooky twist.

INGREDIENTS: 

PREPARATION: Add ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice.  Stir and strain in to cocktail glass.

 

There you have it ghouls and goblins.  Whether you are hosting or just attending a Halloween event, make enough of your favorite cocktail to share with your fellow zombies, superheroes and that one guy with the questionable costume.  Remember, drink responsibly.
